GIPCL-Baroda receives National Awards for Meritorious plant performance for two consecutive years
 
GIPCL - Baroda has received " NATIONAL AWARDS for MERITORIOUS PERFORMANCE" for the years 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 for their Combined Cycle Power Plants at Baroda. The awards are constituted by The Ministry of Power and The Central Electricity Authority.

The Bronze Shields were presented by The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh during a glittering function on 21-03-2007 at New Delhi. GIPCL Chairman Smt. Vijaylaxmi Joshi, IAS and Managing Director Shri L.Chuaungo, IAS along with Executive Director (Tech.) Shri D.G.Naik received these awards on behalf of the Company."

GIPCL is the only Gas Based Station to have received this National Award for two consecutive years i.e. for 2004-05 and 2005-06.

Complimenting the awardees for their wholehearted involvement in improving the performance of the power sector, The Prime Minister, in his address, called upon the power utilities to perform better to ensure that electricity does not become a constraint on the economy. The Prime Minister emphasized that there is still an immense scope for improving the efficiency and productivity of these Central and State enterprises to utilize generating capacities to the maximum possible extent.

Congratulating GIPCL team for their commitment and dedication, Managing Director, Shri L. Chuaungo, IAS has reiterated that with these continued best efforts, GIPCL can not only maintain the current position but expect to achieve the No. 1 ranking at the National level.
